Priscilla and Gretchen visit Nuuanu Pali State Park

Priscilla and I took a week long journey to Honolulu, Hawaii on June 6-12, 2009. While in Hawaii we visited the Nuuanu Pali State, the park overlooks the 985-foot cliffs of the Koolau Mountain Range. The Nuuanu Pali was the setting for one of the most significant battles in Hawaiian history. In 1795, Kamehameha I and his army invaded Oahu, arriving in an imposing fleet of war canoes at Waikiki Beach. The battle took place at Nuuanu Pali. From the Wham Building in Carbondale to Gretchen’s home in Eldorado, and the trip to Honolulu, back to Eldorado and then to the Wham Building is a total of 8,543.8 miles. Priscilla has traveled a total of 8581.2 miles this semester.
